Construction News: NCC Changes Live & Govt Calls for Submissions

Print Version

2019 National Construction Code (NCC)
The NCC has been amended. Taking effect from 1 May 2019 changes have been made to a number of provisions including energy efficiency, masonry, decks and balconies, condensation and fire safety affecting builders and tradies across Queensland. Head to the Master Builders Queensland site for more detail about the changes
It is essential to remain up-to-date with all changes to the NCC to avoid being in breach of your statutory and contractual obligations.
Government Taskforce into Non-Payment
The Queensland Government has established a special taskforce to investigate subcontractor non-payment in the Queensland building industry. Any individual or organisation can make a confidential submission to the taskforce via the taskforce website. We encourage anyone who has experienced non-payment in the building industry to make a submission – if you want to influence government decisions affecting the building industry now is the time to have your say. Submissions close 5pm on Friday 17 May 2019.
