The Works for Tradies Program was introduced as part of the Queensland Government’s economic recovery strategy following the COVID-19 pandemic. The state government will invest $100 million into the program in an effort to boost social housing supply and support construction across Queensland.
The program will see construction commence on new social housing across the state, creating opportunities for small and medium-sized builders, and consequently jobs for contractors and sub-contractors.
QBCC licenced local builders can register their interest to receive early information about construction projects and will have an opportunity to tender to build social housing on land provided by the Queensland Government.
