Extension to lease moratorium announced

You are here: Home / News / Extension to lease moratorium announced

The Queensland Government has announced an extension to the moratorium period in relation to retail and commercial leases to 31 December, which means the protections offered to tenants of affected leases under that Regulation will continue until the end of the year.

For a summary of the Regulation you can access one of our previous alerts Clarity for Landlords and Tenants finally arrives! or for further information on the extension, you can access the recent media statement that has been released by the Queensland Government.

If you require any assistance negotiating or documenting arrangements reached in accordance with the Code or the Regulation, please contact our Commercial + Property Team. CGLaw has developed a low cost Deed of Variation that is consistent with the Regulation, which can easily and quickly document agreements reached between Landlords and Tenants.
