Brittany is an Estate Planning Clerk in the Wills, Estates, Planning + Structuring team.
Brittany started as a receptionist for the firm, which gave her excellent exposure to all of the different areas of law Clifford Gouldson specialises in. She later worked as a paralegal for both the Wills, Estates, Planning + Structuring team, as well as the Commercial section, before deciding where to specialise.
Brittany finds Wills, Estates, Planning + Structuring interesting, particularly seeing what can go wrong when you do not have an appropriate Will in place.
As a naturally empathetic person, Brittany is a good fit for this area of law. Knowing that many of her clients are experiencing a difficult time after losing a loved one, Brittany ensures they feel as comfortable as possible with her and the process. She also has excellent attention to detail, which is required for the types of matters she works on.
Brittany has worked on many interesting matters since joining the firm, including an estate in which the Supreme Court of Queensland found that a voicemail that a deceased person had previously left describing his wishes upon death, was his most current Will.
Brittany holds a Diploma of Human Services and Development and is currently in her final year of a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Southern Queensland.
When she is not working, Brittany enjoys spending time with her friends, going to the gym and playing netball. Brittany is also a Commissioner of Declarations.
