Clifford Gouldson was pleased to be a sponsor of the recent Rotary Toowoomba Ride the Range.
More than 700 riders braved a foggy start to battle cycling distances from the “Nifty50” through to the gruelling “200” – which includes two climbs of the mountain.
We sponsored the Queen and King of the Mountain prizes for those competitors who managed the best times on the Col du Blanchview section of the climb up the mountain.
Congratulations to Queen of the Mountain Anne Elliot and King of the Mountain Brent Ducker.
For those keen cyclists out there the Col du Blanchview is 5.1 kilometres, average grade 6.1 and climb category 3.
Decked out in brand new cycling gear was Clifford Gouldson’s own team of keen cyclists – lead by Director Danny Clifford and including a number of staff, friends and business colleagues.
Danny said, “This is a great event for Toowoomba and something we are very proud to be involved in.”
“It raises money for worthy causes, is brilliantly managed by the Rotary Club of Toowoomba but more than that it is a way to showcase Toowoomba to a whole different group of people who may not otherwise visit the region.”
“With over 60 percent of riders coming from outside the region the boost to the business economy and recognition for Toowoomba is tremendous.”
“I might not be looking forward to climbing the mountain again next year but I’m certainly hoping that we can be involved with this event for many years to come.”
